Our accommodation is located in Silveira, parish and municipality of Lajes do Pico, Azores, Portugal
According to historians, this place of Silveira is among the first to have been inhabited on the island of Pico. According to tradition, the famous friar Father "Gigante", who was the first parish priest of a church in São Pedro das Lajes, lived here. This priest would have surrounded a vast property he owned in this town with brambles, which would have given the place its name. However, a possible link to the settler Willem van der Hagen should not be overlooked. In the Azores, he translated his name to Silveira and gave rise to a fruitful lineage that continues to this day.
Fonte is a bathing area located in Silveira.
The town was, for years, the center of whaling activity and it is now possible to visit the aforementioned Whalers' Museum, as well as the Center for the Arts and Sciences of the Sea (formerly the Whale Factory). The town is also known for its tourist activity related to whale watching.
Our accommodation has a daily maid service, swimming pool, breakfast room, barbecue area, terrace with panoramic views of the mountain and the town of Lajes do Pico, private parking area.
